MEX-R oak armchair

One of the projects I designed while living in Bulgaria was the oak chair that is called MEX-R in a family of MEX chairs. It has a clean European typology in a simple formality and has affinities with Bulgarian craftsmanship. The dedication of the craftsman contributes to the actual design more than might be appreciated.

The MEX-R chair is a chair, with a clear and clean design, straight oak legs on an oak frame and with oak finished bended backrest and seating.  The backrest is connected, with flexing rubber discs allowing the backrest to tilt into a comfortable position as soon as your back rest on it. The armrests have a tubular powder coated frame, clearly connected to the oak frame. The top of the armrest is made from a solid oak.

The oak is finished with a natural oil, protecting the wood from staining and at the same time to preserve the natural character. MEX-R is a chair showing details, not hiding what it stands for: The Beauty of Simplicity.
