The Philips Alessi workshop appliances product line was the result of a colleboration between the Italian designer Alesandro Mendini, creative director at Philips Stefano Marzano and Aleberto Alessi. Designers Benny Leong, Seiya Otha en Roger Swales were respomcible for the executional designs of four of the products in the line. They got awarded in Amsterdam with the Kho Liang Ie prize for their designs in the Philips-Alessi line. The series at first consisted out of a toaster, a water-boiler, a coffee maker and a citrus-press. Later on the blender was added to this series with a new design-statement.
